Bunbury Runners Club

Welcome to The Bunbury Runners Club.

The Club meets every Thursday at our clubrooms located at the Recreation Oval, Cnr Symmons Street & Ocean Drive, Bunbury. Winter run times start from 5.30pm (3rd April) and summer (26th October) from 6.00pm

New members from all walks of life are most welcome. The club has a diverse age group from juniors through to senior members participating well into their retirement years.

The club promotes running and walking with the emphasis on fun and fitness.

The club organises a run each Thursday night with most weeks being a casual run of 3, 5 or 10km or 3 km walk. There are also a series of championship and handicap events for the more competitive. The handicap series is a great leveller. You don't have to be a Steve Moneghetti to have a chance to win this event.

Our major event, the Marathon is conducted in May each year and is open to all members of the public. The 2010 event will be held on Sunday 16th May. This year we welcome new club sponsor 'PROTECTOR ALSAFE' See 'Marathon' tab on left for more information.

Our other major event is theTEEDE REALTY & DISCOUNT AUTO PARTS AUSTRALIA DAY FUN RUN starting from Bicentennial Square, Bunbury. This event is growing in popularity with record 479 competitors finishing the 2010 run/walk. Enjoy 5 or 10km run or a more leisurely 5km walk around the Leschenault Inlet before joining in the celebrations at the Australia Day Breakfast. Full Results for 2010 event

PROTECTOR ALSAFE 2010 BUNBURY MARATHON

We have been fortunate to secure a new principal sponsor for our Marathon events on Sunday 16th May 2010. Club member & Bunbury Branch Manager, Jeremy Rushack, sees this sponsorship as a way of raising the profile of the company & its services in Bunbury. Protector Alsafe has been operational in Bunbury for a number of years and supports many major & small businesses throughout the south west.

Jeremy regularly runs on Thursday evenings & we thank him for his generous support. Over the coming weeks we will introduce Jeremy to the members and we can outline the products & services that they can offer -safety at work, home & play.

JUNIOR HALF MARATHON & MARATHON

Thanks to Healthway for again supporting this emerging event, run in conjunction with the Marathon weekend.

Modified events designed to encourage students to achieve a goal of running a half or full marathon over a period of time

Half Marathon - open to all full time Primary, Secondary & college students : 6 - 18 years of age. Complete 19 km before 16 May, with final 2.1 km Marathon Day

Marathon - open to full time Secondary & College students : 13 - 18 years of age. Complete 40 km before 16 May, with final 2.1 km Marathon Day
